Senior DevSecOps Engineer

We are on a journey to build our DevSecOps culture in Tryg to deliver value at the speed of business and ensure faster time to market. We are expanding our DevSecOps Centre of Excellence with a new colleague, who will be dedicated to helping our Digital Claims area bring DevSecOps to the next level.

About the role | Passion for DevSecOps | Breaking silos down

Currently, we have exciting initiatives with high-value potential in the form of end-to-end automation of a high-quality delivery pipeline with multiple gate automations, moving from on-premise to cloud managed services, a completely virtualized developer experience, implanting site reliability technologies and processes at Tryg as the DevSecOps practice.

 

Through hands-on assistance and coaching of teams, you execute technology, framework, and tool implementations. Our focus centers around Claims teams implementing and reaping the benefits of a continuous delivery pipeline. Direct interaction with teams is crucial as we need to move together with our development and operational teams in implementing DevSecOps principles, frameworks, tools, and culture.

 

You help break down silos between business, development, security, and operation units and create new processes that will help Tryg claim the future. This is to be done by driving a manned community of practice in our Claims area and collaborating with our central DevSecOps platform team.

 

About you | Take an active part in Tryg’s DevSecOps Transformation

You bring hands-on experience with configuration management, built-in quality, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing and coding, preferably Ruby and Phyton. The following are key traits of a top candidate for the position:

  • Knowledgeable in practices enabling process optimization for software delivery
  • Skilled python developer with industry experience
  • Experience with GitLab as a CI/CD tool
  • Knowledge about IaC & SaaS
  • Experience with collaboration between operational and development units
  • The personal traits required to set up and drive a community of practice around DevSecOps with participants from teams across our soon-to-be-launched Digital Claims Agile Release Train
  • Ability to meet the organization and your colleagues where they currently are, and help address the opportunities they currently have while having a visionary outlook on the DevSecOps journey.
  • Bonus points if you have experience in the insurance industry.

 

You are an empathic and proactive driver in finding the right solutions and directions for Digital claims. Together with the teams, you can guide and find solutions based on your personal experience. You are visionary and have a solid understanding of the overall business ecosystem and a great passion for bringing development, operation, security, and business closer together.

 

Example responsibilities in your daily work:

  • Create and maintain an overview of the current CI/CD setup and maturity.
  • Establish a vision and roadmap for technology, process & measurements needed to create the structures that drive a DevSecOps culture.
  • Establish a Community of Practice for DevSecOps in Digital Claims to mature and enable DevSecOps across feature teams.
  • Collaborate with the rest of our Agile & DevSecOps Enablement department to bring perspectives from both DevSecOps and Agile into enabling the journey in Digital claims and across Tryg.

 

Our teams consist of both local and English-speaking team members. It is therefore important that you appreciate diversity and collaboration across countries and cultures. You communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.

You will be anchored within our DevSecOps Centre of Excellence team but will be working with our Digital Claims area as the driver, and primary lead for a manned DevSecOps community of practice. Here you will help strategize, drive and implement the platform and cultural changes needed to help Tryg claim the future.
