Head of Strategy, Go-to-market and business excellence

 

We are seeking a talented Head of Strategy, Go-to-market, and Business Excellence to Commercial Lines Tryg Norway – We hope to find a person who can help us ensure that we target the considerable resources across all of our organization to improve customer offering and create value.

 

The role reports directly to the Head of Commercial Lines Norway, is a full member of the CL Norway management team and part of Tryg’s group of Top100 managers.

 

Commercial Lines Norway is a newly formed organization serving all Tryg’s business customers in Norway, ranging from single-person companies to some of Norway’s largest corporations. With over 4 billion NOK in premiums and more than 250 employees, the organization manages all aspects of the business apart from claims handling and has full P&L responsibility.

 

And you will be welcomed as a part of the Tryg Group. We are the largest Insurance company in Scandinavia, with more than 30 billion DKK in premiums over 5 million customers and 7,500 employees.

 

Strategic mindset and a strong leader

As Head of Strategy, Go-to-market, and Business Excellence you will lead a team of ~15 talented individuals (including 2 team leaders). 

 

The team has overall responsibility for the following activities:

 

  • Developing and maintaining a fact-based, comprehensive strategy that ties together all aspects of the business.
  • Coordinating and tracking implementation of strategy across organization (including on-going prioritization of initiatives)
  • Optimizing end-to-end customer journey in collaboration with rest of organization   
  • Go-to-market and marketing activities (in collaboration with Group Marketing team)
  • Process optimization within and between divisions including ad hoc strategic analysis.
  • Competency building and training.
  • Management support

 

Across activities, an important aspect of the teams work is to always ensure that we are working in the same direction across divisions in Commercial Lines Norway. Further, an important aspect of the role is to catalyze and manage collaboration with other Business Units and functions in Tryg (both in Norway and the rest of Scandinavia).

 

Through your role, you will have significant exposure to key stakeholders in Tryg, including the Norwegian country management, Tryg’s executive board, your peers in other BUs and key group functions like Group Strategy and Group Marketing and Communications.

 

The team is primarily based in Bergen, where Tryg has the Norwegian headquarters. The head of Strategy, Go-to-market and Business Excellence should expect to spend three days or more a week with the team in Bergen, but it is possible to be privately based in other locations, like Oslo.

 

Bring your past experiences into play.

We are looking for a person with at least 3-4 years of experience from a top-tier management consultancy, having worked in an in-house strategy function on top is an advantage.

 

To be successful, you will probably have some of the following experience:

 

  • Managing people and complex projects
  • Go-to-market/ marketing activities.
  • Process optimization and competency building.

 

Also, the ideal candidate will be a caring leader who develops and motivates their team to their full potential with a strong drive for results and ability to motivate and excite others.

 

Being a holistic thinker able to balance internal considerations with an out-side in customer perspective will be beneficial and you will need your ability to translate strategies and concepts into actionable priorities. Using your senior presence will allow you to engage in management team discussions and convincingly represent Commercial Lines up to the Executive Board level.

 

You are not alone and will be most successful as a team player who is able to work well with key stakeholders across the organization.

 

Fluency in Norwegian or one of the other Scandinavian languages is a requirement as is professional fluency in English.

For the right candidate this role would be a strong entry point into Tryg and could open the door to other positions down the road in either Norway or the rest of Scandinavia.
